Garbage bin for youngsters

This garbage bin is designed for the local hang out, youngsters who are hanging at their favourite spot in their neighboorhood.

The project focuses on interaction. The garbage bin is made from concrete and stainless steel pipes. The pipes can be used by skaters. On the concrete bin, the slang name of the hood is engraved. The garbage can tries to make a connection with the lifestyle of the local youth.

The local youth doesn't (want to) fit into the norms of society. Especially throwing garbage in the garbage bin is something the local youth refuses to do. The designed garbage can places itself inside the comfort zone of the user and from there on tries to invite the local youth to act according to the norms of society.
